I hope to ride it daily when finished. It should look really shmick black with all the chrome work. Bye Allan. |

| Comments: | Just by way of an update, the 400 is looking better by the month. I've replaced the rear mudguard with a nice used one from the states via E-bay, and also had the wheels rebuilt with new spokes and rims. Also I've fitted new stainless brake lines(totally transformed the braking)and fitted some new indicators. It gets regularly ridden during the warmer weather and gets lots of curious folk pointing and looking. Note new E-mail address for those who wish to get in touch. |

He is quite possible the first Wiusconsin resident to own a Cb 400f, and with that doubious distinction comes the humi;lity of owning the most underpowered an heaviest "presurser" of the modern sport bike. I love the bike, and it is in great condition, but i need a set of right hand controls to repair the defunct starer switch. E-mail me with parts info PLEASE.. Our local Honda (boat dealer) dosn;t want to support anything oldert tand 1985 per Honda circ early 01. |

I was right! Soon it will be a classic, and I wouldn't mind being the owner of a classic. I turn a lot of heads as I drive around and everywhere I go older chaps come up and tell me that they used to drive te same bike when they were younger, I always get a kick out of that! |

| Comments: | Bought a CB 400-4 SF import last September. It's used every day to commute to work on. Shame the local Honda dealer refuses to even look at it, they're loosing out on trade, just because its an import. Goes rapidly for a 400; am very pleased with it. Anyone know where to get cheap fuel tap spares from? I've doubled the mileage on it - bikes are to ridden, not polished and hidden for the winter! |

| Comments: | It's nice to see a site dedicated to one of my favorite bikes. I bought my blue '75 400F new in 1976 in Cocoa Beach, Florida (it was "left over" from the previous year, and was a steal at US$1500). It, too, lived in Melbourne -- Florida, that is -- but had to be kept in an open carport across the street from the Atlantic ocean since our house at that time didn't have an enclosed garage. And therein lies the key to its demise -- continuous salt spray and eventually rust everywhere. When we moved farther south to the Boca Raton, FL area, someone expressed an interest in fixing it up (it was still rideable) so I gave it away in 1989 with only about 5000 miles on it, and all parts original. It had a tall "sissy bar" in the back and a set of front road pegs mounted to a chrome crash bar (the purpose of which was to protect the engine and exhaust system if it were ever dumped, which it wasn't). I'll see if I can find some of my old pictures. Now I guess I'll have to look for another |

I have restored it from the ground up 10 years ago and it now does regular commuting every week. Still starts first kick most days. Ditch the standard muffler and it sounds better than anything!!! | Comments: | I just rescued a CB400F from a garage where its beens sitting for several years. I don't prefer the red color as much as the blue or yellow, but I'm reluctant to change the color entirely. I think I'll restore to the original color since the tank is in great shape. In fact the whole bike is in awesome condition. I need some help so I don't screw up the carburator. Any comments would be GREATLY appreciated. I love the blocky basic shape of the seventies Honda's. I'm 42 years old now and entering yet another of my "having a mid-life crisis, need another project to feel good about myself" stages. I rode a CB 100 in High School (briefly, until dad found out I had a motorcycle) then pined for another street bike for years. This "restoration" project is my way of saying, "its okay to have a bike as long as you don't ride it around too much in town". I always taught my boys to ride dirt bikes and never own a street bike because... "its just a matter of when, not if"... I'm sure they both thin |

| Comments: | I bought a low mileage bike (700 miles) and put on 400 miles. Since then, I parted it out because I wanted to build a CR type racer. It's been a year now and I am still building it. Check out some pics at www.oldrice.com\cafecorner. I just recently wanted a stock bike again and wished I never parted out the original bike. Now, I am in the middle of restoring a bike back to original condition with some modern updates (alloy rims, modern tires, modern shocks, etc.) I have been slowly acquiring NOS parts for it and refurbishing or refinishing what I can't find. |

| Comments: | I have just purchased a 400 four (76) model. I have to admit I bought it really because the size and weight were perfect for me, but the more I look at it and the more I find out just what an appreciated bike this really is, the more I would like to get in in original condition. It is in lovely clean shape although alot of the parts are not original (exhaust, rear lights(?), handlebars (?), paint colour) and I would love to hear from anyone who lives in this area of the woods, with a 400 four who would perhaps like to get together wnd give me come advice on how to start to get a bike back to its original state. This is my first (well I have got a GS750) bike and I am really excited and want to look after it as best I can. Happy days everyone ..... |

| Comments: | Great job. I have a red 75 that is in good shape but needs a little detail work. I'm the 3rd owner, I bought in 1988 for $500 with 6,000 miles on it in basically new condition. It now has just over 10,000. As much as I love it I try not to ride it too much. I am also debating on trying to find an 89 CB-1 to go with it. Actually it's not much of a debate I just have to save a little more $ and actually look for one. I've seen the occasional one that hasn't been messed with but unfortunately when I saw them I didn't have the $. :-( |

(C200) The C200 that I rebuilt I have installed into a C102 frame which makes an interesting machine, a step through with a clutch and 4 speed box. If you are interested I will send a photo. |

| Comments: | Nice site except for the unwelcome pop-ups. I used to have a CB400F. I bet you hear that a lot. Mine was stolen in 1978. Ten years later the cops phoned my mother to tell me they had found it! By this time, of course, it was an empty frame at some illegal rubbish dumping site. Pity. It was the sort of bike you like to keep. |

| Comments: | G'day! Excellent site you've created here! I'll be watching it with interest. I've just reacquired the '76 CB400F that I bought new in '77. (Yellow, 26k miles, only 1k miles put on since I sold it in '82, and it's been stored in my garage since '87). It needs some tlc, but your pictures are inspirational. Restoration on the way! |
